Joey Celentano, the Peewee A team, and Corey Koch of Bantam A have been voted Most Determined Players.

Joey Celentano is our nomination for the BYH most determined player. Back in the summer, when we were trying to put our roster together, we weren't sure that we would have a goalie - which, when you only have 11 skaters - really puts the future of your team in jeopardy. Joey, who helped lead a strong Peewee rec team last year, was diagosed with Crohn's Disease, an inflammatory disease of the intestinal tract that can cause severe abdominal pains, digestive issues, fatigue and many other symptoms that can make it difficult to perform any task, much less stand in front of hockey pucks four times a week. We knew that Joey was a tough goalie with a lot of potential and expected to have him at least on a part-time basis, but just weren't sure how much he'd be able to play. Well, he's been with us since Day 1, back in late August, and as at various times throughout the season he's been our most valuable player. He kept us in games early in the season when we were getting our feet under us and still coming together as a team, and has come up with big saves in recent victories. Joey may be our best on-ice communicator and has a compeitive drive that a coach would love to see in any player at any level. Most important, besides being a hard worker who NEVER has complained about not feeling well or being tired or sick, Joey is a perfect gentleman who never talks back, always accepts advice openly and tries his best to do everything that is asked of him. Not only is he our most determined player, but he also is one of our most valuable.  --Peewee Travel Coaching Staff


Corey Koch - Bantam Travel
One of the three leaders returning from last year's Bantam travel team, Corey Koch's off to a great start in the first half of the season. Corey's ability to get the puck to the net is second to none, as he is among the leaders in offense in every category on the team. But what is most impressive is the courage and heart he brings to every single game. Corey's quiet strength and ability to lead through example and "never quit," attitude, is why we nominate him for BYH's most determined player.  --Bantam Coaching Staff
